May edit / No. 04 - Editor's pick
Five reading lamps, picked for May.
A lamp for the slow part of the evening.
A new edit every month. Here's how it works.
This edit is live through May 31We test dozens. Five make the edit.
The build, the light, the design — if it wouldn't earn a spot on our own shelf, it doesn't make the cut. Most don't.
It rotates on the first.
Five lamps, one month. When the month ends, these five step aside and the next edit takes their place. No endless catalog to scroll.
Built to stay, not to ship.
Materials that feel right in the hand. Light that fills a room, not just a corner. Lamps you'd keep — not return.
lum is one person with a standard, not a warehouse. If it wouldn't go in my own home, it doesn't go in yours.
The full edit - five lamps
Five lamps picked for one thing: how they live in a room when the overhead's off. Warm light, slow shapes, made for the moment the day ends.
The first three are the quiet ones. They sit in a room and do their job without asking for attention. The next two are a little different.
Hush
Cordless opal shade on a wood-grain stem. Goes from bedside to bath to patio. Touch the base, dim it, leave it wherever. Nine hours per charge.
When May ends,
the edit changes.
These five are available through the end of the month. After that they step aside for the next edit — a fresh five, picked the same way. Past edits live in the archive.
